The Caribbean: A Royal Flush
This year we hope to enter a troupe called "The Caribbean: A Royal Flush". Like our entry last year, this troupe will be made up of more colorful & picturesque costumes which will present the Caribbean as a winning destination depicted by the unbeatable royal flush in a deck of cards. It will portray symbolically the various attributes of our people at all levels and from all walks of life, from the fun loving "joker" to the powerful "ace or emperor" or the lowly "jack" to "the mighty king" and the "royal queen". The various suites in the deck of cards will symbolize strength in the spades, love in the hearts, togetherness in the clubs and longevity or good health in the diamonds.
The costumes have been designed by us and will be produced in Trinidad in time for our celebrations during the first week of August. The troupe is expected to be more than 120 strong including floats and other fanfare.
